What we need...

  • Volunteers!  With so many children in the city that need help, we can always use more people.  Have you ever wanted to visit South America but been reticeny because you've never been that far from home?  Or maybe you've never left your home country? Now is your chance to be an adventurist...with a "safety net"!        Come to Ecuador for two weeks.  Volunteer the first week, then let us send you on a customized tour of the country so you get the feel of how beautiful the country is and all it has to offer.  Visit the jungles, the Andes Mountains and the coast!  Experience it all!  For just $3,000, you will be cared for from the minute you step off the plane in Quito.  Whether you choose to stay with a local family or in a local hotel, you will have the best of care.  The first five days you will do volunteer work and experience for yourself how very rewarding giving to others is.  The second week, you are off on your tour!  If you are interested and would like more details, please fill out the form on the contact page and we will happily send you more information .
  • Teachers NeededWe are actively looking for two native English speaking teachers: one Early Childhood certified and one Special Education LLD certified teacher for the school year 2007/2008. As a new facility, our teachers will have the rare opportunity to help develop the curriculum and teaching formats that will be used. Our teachers earn a $600 per month stipend. Our Early Childhood teachers will work as a team on a split-schedule, one working from 6:30a.m. until 12:30, the second from 12:00 until 6pm. The two teachers will use their overlapping scheduled time to discuss students, plans, problems of the day.
  • The Special Education teacher will also work a total of six hours per day, but will have a flexible schedule based on student needs. She will work closely with the other teachers as an academic advisor for our students.

Additional income may be earned with tutoring older children in the afternoons, from 3:00 p.m. forward, if interested.

Teachers willing to sign a year’s contract will also be provided medical insurance coverage. Spanish classes and TESOL courses may also be arranged through the internationally renowned school, The Experiment in International Living, at the expense of the teacher.

If interested, please contact us via email for an online application. In-house orientation will begin the August 28, 2007, and school begins Monday, September 3, 2007.

(Please note, all travel costs and visa applications are the burden of the teacher. Independent living or living with a host family may be arranged. Spanish is not required but helpful.)
